In 1997 under the banner of Matchbox Collectibles was a series of 12 1/64 (approx.) scale vehicles released in pairs and only available as a direct purchase from Matchbox Collectibles.
Each vehicle was made in the same way as the Premiere Series vehicles, meaning they had far more detailed interiors, exteriors, chassis detailing and with rubber tyres.
Although known as the Ultra Class; not to be confused with the larger scale (1/43 ) Ultra Class vehicles, this series was also known as ”The Greatest Auto Makers Collection”. Each vehicle came with a certificate of authenticity and a story card with the story of the real car and its manufacturer.
Once you purchased all models, Matchbox would send you a custom display case to complete your collection.
