In 2021 we get a new series aimed squarely at the collector market; titled ”Matchbox Collector” this series will replace the popular ”Superfast” range that has been used over the previous few years.
The models will come in a blister pack with a retro styled box included.
*The above blister sample is only proposed at this stage (July 2020) and is subject to change.
In 2005 the premium Superfast range was released in two different versions, the same model was released in all markets but with different colours being used between the USA and the ROW ranges. The USA range was advertised as 1 of up to 15,500 pieces whereas the ROW range was simply stated as a Limited Edition
1989 saw the release of a highly detailed collectable range of cars based on some of the current miniature series. These models had more detailed tampo along with more realistic rubber tyres.
The range continued for some years although in 1996 the series received a slight name change from the original World Class Series to the Premiere Collection World Class Series. Series I – 1989
1996 saw the series name officially change to Premiere Collection – World Class and the series numbers were started again only this time using Western Arabic (English Language) numbers instead of the roman numeral that had previously been used to indicate the series numbers.
