In 1976 Lesney released a small batch of Y1 models to members of an American Matchbox Club, These Code 2 models are very rare and should not be confused with the all black version released in 1984 as part of the connoisseurs set.

Issue #01 was the only one with a twin brake lever, all other variations were issued with a single brake lever.

Collectors Warning: The seats, hoods & grille on this model are very easy to swap so beware !!!

American Matchbox Club Model, not to be confused with the standard 1984 all black model which had the words “Limited Edition” cast into the underside of the roof	This Model was commissioned by MICA NA to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Matchbox Toys at Chelsea Piers in New York City on August 24, 2002. Limited to a total of approximately 200 models. Altered from the original YMS01 1911 Ford Model T a total of 180 yellow taxis were produced along with 12 navy blue.	This Model was commissioned by MICA NA to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Matchbox Toys at Chelsea Piers in New York City on August 24, 2002. Limited to a total of approximately 200 models. Altered from the original YMS01 1911 Ford Model T a total of 180 yellow taxis were produced along with 12 navy blue.
