In 2021 there was a variety of country specific series like the UK, German, France or Russia Collections; some of these models were also released as part of a Global Series
Starting in 1998 there were several sub-series of vehicles all utilising the Coca-Cola brand as a theme. Some of these were released under the banner of Matchbox Collectibles in a premiere fashion whilst others were in a specially coloured window box and were more like the mainline series.
2018 marked the 65th Anniversary of the Matchbox brand and the packaging this year included a special logo to celebrate this fact.

There are three distinct ranges this year; the USA range, the German range and the ROW (Rest of the World) range. 1999 is also the first time in decades that the range expanded beyond the 75 vehicle limit with the USA range expanding to 100 vehicles in total.
